The Bachelor of Environments is an innovative new degree being offered by The University of Melbourne. It will provide you with the skills needed to be a creative thinker in the built and natural environment disciplines.
The degree brings together expertise from a range of discipline areas across the University to provide leadership in the study of built, natural and virtual environments, and is unique within Australia. This three year degree will give you a broad understanding of the issues and challenges that shape diverse environments, whilst providing you with the opportunity to focus on an area of specialisation of your choosing.
Graduates of the Bachelor of Environments will be able to think about the environment beyond the short term, and play an active role in maintaining, designing and constructing sustainable areas in which to live, work and visit.
Students, who care about the environments in which we live, will enjoy studying the Bachelor of Environments and embrace the opportunities across the natural, virtual and built environments.
If you want to design and build sustainable buildings through studying architecture or working through complex issues such as water and climate sustainability then the bachelor of Environments is for you. There are 11 majors for you to discover. Your biggest decision may not be deciding to study the Bachelor of Environments, but what major to study, though with this flexible degree you don’t have to make the decision right now.
Career pathways will depend on your major field of study and your chosen breadth options. Potential career pathways might include; architectural project support, environmental risk analyst, land development and forestry management, science and management of soil, water and air pollution, environmental and sustainability education, natural resource development and management, land survey technician, spatial information officer, design technician, property management or as an environmental geologist.
