First Year

In first year, you may select any two 100-level subjects (25 points) outside the Bachelor of Environments as breadth.

You may select one of the new University breadth subjects, or subjects from other disciplines like maths, economics, history, political science, anthropology, geography, languages, chemistry, biology or commerce.

Breadth within the Bachelor of Environments

Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the Bachelor of Environments, students can select their breadth subjects from other streams within the degree providing it contrasts with their chosen discipline. For example, a student taking a scientific major such as Civil Systems or Environmental Science will take breadth subjects that contrast with the scientific way of knowing. These subjects might be taken within the Design, Socio-cultural or Business/quantitative streams of the Bachelor of Environments program. Students may also choose any subject from the list of University-wide breadth subjects.
