Community Access Program (CAP)
Single Subject Study
The Community Access Program (CAP) opens up study opportunities so that everyone has a chance to experience the benefits of expert tuition at the University of Melbourne.
CAP provides an excellent opportunity if you:
- have always had the desire to learn something new
- have wanted to study but have had to postpone it for one reason or another
- want to advance your career
- are a student at the University of Melbourne or another tertiary institution and you wish to pursue an interest outside your current academic program
- want to enhance your academic record
- want to explore a potential area of study before making a commitment to more intensive study
The Environments course offers CAP students a range of subjects that bring together the study of the built, natural and virtual environments. We offer a series of unique subjects that will give you an integrated understanding of these environments. You will learn to think about the environment beyond the short term, and play an active role in maintaining, designing and constructing sustainable areas to live, work and visit.
Projects within the Environments course replicate the interdisciplinary nature of real-world projects, where built and natural environment professionals work together to bring projects to fruition. Employers in a range of sectors are looking for people who are able to keep all these approaches in mind as they enter the contemporary workplace.
Subjects in the Environments course are open to anyone and many lead to subjects at higher levels.
